Erin Luman | Comforter

March 1 - 29, 2025

Opening Reception | Saturday March 1st . 4-6pm

Erin Luman’s artwork explores memory and feeling. Her frustration with impermanence has sharpened her focus on overlooked places and objects. So whether it’s your grandmother’s 100 year old bathroom sink, old New England beach cottages as the sea keeps coming closer, or the view of the marsh as it turns gold in the fall, she’s painting for herself and for you to remember.

Her latest series, COMFORTER, reflects a new layer of this exploration: the importance of rest. The paintings of blankets and familiar comforts are more than just symbols of relaxation; they are metaphors for moments of pause and reflection. Just as she captures fleeting memories before they slip away, these works serve as gentle reminders to take time to rest and reset — to preserve the moments of calm before they disappear.
