 This is a series in contemplation and repetition, of simplicity and precision, a study of texture, shadow and hue. During a long and cold, icy winter on the ocean’s edge, there was plentiful time for introspection and reflection. These abstract works, meditative in their evolution, are an ode to the nature of working with clay, which both gives into and resists touch. I find the collaboration of hand building reflects the art of relating, like the soft shadow of the form.
